4 (Free) Ways to Repair Split Ends
Why do I care about split ends? Because when you want healthy looking, long hair, taking care of the ends of your hair is a must! I am growing my hair out, so naturally, I am trying to make sure I don’t lose length by having my hair break. Here are a few tricks you can use that don’t require a special serum, potion or trim to maintain your healthy locks.
- Don’t blow-dry. This one is always helpful for your hair if you want to retain moisture & shine! Blow-drying your hair each wash can be incredibly drying, so try to take time off from your blow-dryer if you want to see a noticeable improvement in your hair’s health and moisture!
- Rinse it with honey. You probably already have honey in your cabinet, so use it as a DIY conditioner! Mix 2 tablespoons with 4 cups of water and apply it to your hair before you shampoo and condition.
- Oil masks! Olive or coconut oil is also something you probably already have in your cabinet as well, and works great as a DIY mask to help naturally soften your ends & moisturize your roots. Apply everywhere from your scalp to your ends and leave in for 20 minutes before you rinse in the shower.
- Use alcohol-free shampoo. Alcohol is a harsh chemical to put on your hair since it is so drying, and also washing it too often leads to breakage. Avoid shampoos that contain alcohol and cut back shampooing to a maximum of 3 times a week!
