The Amazing View
I love the window seat when I fly on an airplane.
There’s something about an elevated view of the world below that brings perspective.
Looking down from an airplane, even the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado seem as though they could have been carved from the earth with God’s fingertip.
Standing on the back porch of my friend’s home, nestled in a canyon, far above the tree tops, overlooking the Pacific shoreline, I can see for miles as the ocean meets the sky’s horizon. Peace settles into the soul when the world is displayed in front of you with such a vast view point.
My husband and I sometimes hike the hills behind our home. Following the trails, we make our way to top. Looking out over our neighborhood from the top of a mountain gives me a bigger picture.
Do you need to gain perspective and see the bigger picture of your life situation?
God has the ability to bring an elevated view point to circumstances. No matter what we face in this life, God stands with His hands extended to us every day.
Like a nurturing father, he wants to pick us up and help us see things with a greater understanding. As we lift our arms in surrender to Him our blurred vision gains focus and clarity.
What an amazing view eternal perspective can bring to our lives.
It’s so very easy to get caught up in all the temporal things of this world and all the stress and worry that comes with it. On the other hand, I am constantly amazed by how quickly God can refresh my soul with the eternal perspective of His everlasting love when I am willing to take the time to invite Him in.
Are you trying to live your life with the limited view from the bottom of a canyon?
Let God lift you up today over the tree tops and mountains to see things from His amazing view.
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:18
